Decorating & Entertaining for the New Year

Here are a few simple ideas that can help for your entertaining over the holidays and New Year.

1. A trip to the craft store can get you in the holiday spirit. We like silver and gold graffiti and blowers from Michael’s. They are a fun way to dress up a table!

2. Stencils for flutes are a fun way to count down the New Year.

3. Serve finger food. We love these individual popcorn portions in festive bags. Target has great options.

4. Get great champagne. Rose champagne is a good choice for all food pairings and can please both Red and White wine drinkers.

Most of all…give yourself the day ahead to get ready so you can relax and be a great host. Happy Holidays from all of us!

Getting Ready for the Holidays

As we enter into December, we often get called upon to decorate our client’s homes. Here are some things that we have used to celebrate the holidays.

For outdoor entertaining, we love using these antler candelabras from Ralph Lauren. They are good year round, but make the holiday table grand.

Mercury glass containers are fun along with mercury glass candle votives. The vases here are from Pottery Barn.

Another great way to show off crystal is to use mirrored trays to display glasses. You can find one similar to this at Z Gallerie.

To get a golden glow, use fabric and make your own table cloth. This one is from Bergamo and simulates gold leaves.

We love the crispness of white dishes on a holiday table. These place settings are from Williams Sonoma and are fun to use!

Side tables that make a statement can add a sculptural quality to a room full of fabric and clean lines. One of our favorites is this mirrored piece from West Elm. Often times, we will use a material such as clear resin for a modern but organic feel. We often custom make iron tables similar to this twig table in a bronze or gold finish to add warmth to a room. Side tables can be art by illuminating. We recently installed this glowing table at a modern penthouse patio for a dramatic effect in a small space.

And for something really one-of-a-kind (and if money is no object), this table is a masterpiece!
